Description of the building
The construction of the south-eastern bypass of Jihlava has brought a major improvement in the traffic situation in the city and its surroundings. The newly constructed 2.4 km long relocation of the II/602 road connects the I/38, II/405 and II/523 roads and serves as a key connection of the south-eastern part of Jihlava to the D1 motorway.
The project was implemented as a new construction in the rural area, outside the existing development and included several demanding construction projects. Six bridges were built, including a bridge over the Jihlávka River, two roundabouts and two T junctions. The project also included a separate bypass in the direction II/602 → II/405 to Třebíč, as well as an anti-noise wall near the residential development, extensive landscaping and relocation of utility networks (including HV, LV and communication cables).
The road was designed in category S 9.5/70, with a long crawler lane of 1.37 km for a smooth flow of heavy traffic. The construction was carried out in one stage, in phases, with an emphasis on the reduction of traffic restrictions to minimum in the affected area.
The new bypass significantly relieved the congested traffic junction in the centre of Jihlava and contributed to the improvement of the environment, safety and comfort of residents and drivers of transit traffic.
